Required Qualifications:
- Formal training or certifications in Disaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity Planning (CBCP, MBCP, DRP) a plus.
- At least 3-4 years experience in business continuity and associated disaster recovery, or combined experience of 5 or more years in computer operations, and/or information security engineering with disaster recovery planning and development emphasis.
- Comprehensive understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery planning, design, documentation, and controls. Demonstrated competency in developing and evaluating business continuity templates and plans, identifying risks, and ensuring risk mitigation, with the business acumen and technical competency to direct and coordinate plan execution.
- Experience with using 3rd party DR facilities i.e. Sungard, Comdisco, etc.
- Knowledge of Disaster Recovery Plan design with automated tools as well as systems architecture.
- Ensure recovery of IT systems in the event of a disaster.
- Coordinate disaster recovery activities for exercises and when a disaster occurs.
- Partner with IT groups to develop and document disaster recovery plans and scripts.
- Plan, coordinate and schedule disaster recovery exercises to validate disaster recovery scripts.
- Review disaster recovery plans to ensure compliance and alignment with current environment.
- Work with Business Managers to ensure that new equipment, facilities, services, and systems have disaster recovery requirements addressed.
- Work with Sales/Marketing team to provide DR costs and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain standards and procedures for disaster recovery documentation.
- Coordinate the efforts of staff members in different functional areas in the development of procedures for the continuity of business processes in a disaster situation.
